Former Allegheny County Deputy District Attorney Bjorn Dakin joins the North Hills probate estate and elder law practice of H.A. English and Associates, P.C. In his previous role, Dakin supervised and trained new ADAs, prosecuted a variety of criminal offenses in jury and non-jury trials, and was involved in the Investigations Unit of complex cases regarding theft, elder financial abuse and law enforcement misconduct.
After earning his Eagle Scout as a teenager, Dakin attended Valley Forge Military Academy and College in Wayne, PA where he earned an Associate’s Degree graduating Summa Cum Laude. He then obtained his Bachelor’s of Arts degree from the University of Virginia in 2000. Following graduation, Dakin worked in banking as a head teller and call center supervisor before attending the University of Georgia School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctorate degree. In 2005, Dakin was admitted to the Bar of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and subsequently admitted to the U. S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania in 2006.
Outside of the office, Bjorn has served St. Paul’s as a Lay Leader, Church Council member, Staff Parish Relations Committee Chair, and member of the Bequest and Endowment Committee. He is the previous Cub Scout Pack 13 Cubmaster and is a committee member for Boy Scout Troop 17 in Allison Park. He recreationally plays trumpet and violin, and plays handbells with the Three Rivers Ringers.
Bjorn and his wife Beth reside in Hampton Township with their two children, Paul and Joy.
